An Ode to Procrastination

That’s right buddy. Keep up the good work./ Haley Klassen
That’s right buddy. Keep up the good work./ Haley Klassen

This student habit deserves its own song!

Author: Taras Matkovsky – Duke of Delay

Sung to the tune of Don’t Stop Believing by Journey

Just three hundred more words

To get done on time

He played some more Civ’ 5

Till tomorrow dawn

One more equation

To get done tonight

She binged-watched Twin Peaks

Till the early morn’

A break from the college season

The slow lazy passage of time

Thinking ‘Why should we do work now?’

It goes on and on and on and on.

Students resting

All around Regina town

Young minds, searching

How to work

Teenage learners

Livin’ before the back-to-school

Hidin’ their work till the night (before)

Workin’ hard to not get failed

Everyone wants a not-zero

Doin’ anything to get

Done on time

Some will win

Some will lose

Some already made an excuse

Oh, the pattern never ends

It goes on and on and on and on

Students resting

All around Regina town

Young minds, searching

How to work

Teenage learners

Livin’ before the back-to-school

Hidin’ their work till the night (before)

Pro-cra-sti-na-ting

Keep on doing nothing

Time’s up a wastin’

Keep on vanishin’

Go on

Time a wastin’

Pro-cra-sti-na-ting

Keep on vanishin’

Time a wastin
