Although the semester is coming to a close, there are still a lot of fun events on campus that you can check out before heading home for the holidays. We, as the URSU executive team, have a lot planned for next semester, so be sure to stay tuned about all the things we will have to offer.
As some of you may or may not know, 2011 marks the University of Regina's 100th Anniversary. The U of R has a long-standing history in the Regina community. As we have accomplished so much as a university in the first 100 years, I can only imagine what more great things we will do in over the next few decades collectively as a university.
In addition to the U of R's Centennial Anniversary, one thing that I wanted to let you know about is the new Centennial Matching Scholarship Fund that was just announced by President Timmons. Throughout 2011, individual donors who support students will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to the first $10,000 each. Through this initiative, the U of R is looking to raise 1 million dollars to support its students through scholarships and bursaries.
I think this scholarship exemplifies the U of R's commitment to its students, and I would like thank President Timmons and her team for making this possible!
