Go-to work music: honestly i usually have 6 hour long let's play youtube videos on just to provide a backdrop. catch me watching pokemon stadium rental randomizer attempts on repeat for months.

Noticing these things brings me joy: best small joys include: when you and one other person both notice a weird thing and become secret, life-long comrades. when someone says something about you that they don't really mean as a serious compliment but you're so delighted by it so it absolutely is a compliment. when you look over at your pals all sitting together and it's so painfully obvious they're the main characters.

Noticing these things brings me joy: When that door goes clickity-clack, it's the universal signal that my neighbors in the adjacent apartments have embarked on their workday journey. But hey, as a proud freelancer, it means one thing for me—I can cozy up and indulge in some glorious, uninterrupted beauty sleep! Who needs alarms when you've got the freedom to snooze to your heart's content? It's a little victory dance for the freelance dreamers out there!

If given the chance to change the world with a snap, I'd change: If I had the power, I'd snap my fingers and make Saskatchewan's weather as sunny and pleasant as San Francisco's!

Noticing these things brings me joy: When someone remembers a very specific thing that I’ve mentioned once in a conversation. When friends adapt the phrases, words or references I use. When I’ve used up a skincare product down to its last drop.

Would love to teach: Some sort of something involving creative writing, be it short stories, scripts, poetry, whatever really.

Go-to work music: Something jazzy and upbeat, up until I get too distracted and have to turn it off.

If given the chance to master 1 new skill without effort, it would be: Mastery of a new language, Norwegian, German, or Japanese. Learning languages takes far too much time and effort otherwise

Noticing these things brings me joy: Animals rolling around on the ground, fairy lights and funky lamps lighting up a space, and people vibrantly talking about their passions and interests with others.

If given the chance to change the world with a snap, I'd change: A liveable amount of Universal Basic Income distributed globally, or simply have all human necessities freely available to everyone.

U of R programs: Major in Finance with a Certificate in Money and Financial Economics at the Hill school of business

Favourite class in the last year: Phil 150 : Really made me think and understand logic and life at the same time

Would love to teach: Networking 101, Basics of connecting with people and how to make meaningful connections, conversation rates etc. I believe networking is crucial in any course of program. Having this skillset is valuable and is never taught. I would love to teach this course in all faculties especially Business and Arts.

Go-to work music: Indie music of Local Train, when Chai met Toast, Prateek Kuhaad, The Yellow Diary and vibe to evergreen KK.

If given the chance to master 1 new skill without effort, it would be: Cooking. Very essential and my survival depends on that. I do not enjoy and find it really hard to get my head around it.

Noticing these things brings me joy: the smile of a baby, passing of the day, my roommate leaving extra portion of the favourite part of the meal

If given the chance to change the world with a snap, I'd change: remove toilet papers in washrooms all across the world. Humans created jetspray for a reason and I wouldn't want to disappoint its creators.

Favourite class in the last year: Psyc 101 with Dr Shadi Beshai- Introductory psychology- Social, development and clinical focus- I've always had an affinity to unravel the intricacies of the human mind, memory and brain.

Would love to teach: I would teach a "Cat 101" course to explore the innate behaviors of the different cat breeds, their body language and their bond with humans.

Go-to work music: "Paradise" by Maher Zain- This Islamic song invites reflection on the ultimate destination sought by believers, which is paradise where souls are embraced by eternal bliss.

If given the chance to master 1 new skill without effort, it would be: Interpret the unique vocalizations of each and every cat

Noticing these things brings me joy: Moments with my family and pet cats, feel of fresh air early in the morning and sense of peace around.

If given the chance to master 1 new skill without effort, it would be: language acquisition. I would want to be able to learn a language with ease. 

Noticing these things brings me joy: when I wake up early and I'm not tired, when I do favours for "future me" so I can go back to do something and it's already done/started, dogs and very fluffy cats, seeing friends out in the wild

U of R programs: Pre-journalism

Favourite class in the last year: English 214! It’s a wonderful English elective surveying Indigenous literature in Canada with only ENGL100 as the prerequisite. This class has given me so much insight into literature, life, and my work. 

Would love to teach: Something on Jane Austen, especially on the impact her body of work had on the Romance genre!

Go-to work music: The music of the ‘70s and ‘80s is the closest thing my life has to a soundtrack right now. If I really need to get something done, though, you can bet money on me listening to Taylor Swift until it’s done. 

If given the chance to master 1 new skill without effort, it would be: I don’t think I’d want to master a new skill without effort. What’s the saying? Maybe the real mastery was the friends we made along the way. 

Noticing these things brings me joy: All my favourite people, sunshine hitting panes of glass in the morning, and a to-do list with absolutely everything crossed off.
