Split slate elected to URSU executive

The results are in for the University of Regina Students' Union's 2012-13 elections, and they're interesting, to say the least.

Students First candidates Haanim Nur and Anna Dipple will be taking the positions of president and vice-president external affairs, respectively. UR Innovation candidate Mitch Simpson will be taking on the position of VP operations & finance, and his running partner Mike Young will be next year's VP student affairs.

While last year saw the Kent Peterson-led Voice of Students slate sweep the executive positions and the For Students board slate take most of the board seats, this year's elections reveal a split vote that goes all the way up through the executive.

URSU has more information at the link that kicks off this post. We'll have deeper analysis – and hopefully some swagged-out infographics – for you in next week's issue.
